Over the course of 3 pandemic lockdowns, Katie occupied her time in skincare formulation study, enrolling in 3 courses through the School of Natural Skin Care.  After retailing a few product lines, Katie was dissatisfied with pricing and the need to carry several lines to be able to offer clients the full complement of cleanser, day/night, and specialized serums and creams.

After months of heavy research, with a weekly commitment to at minimum 3 to 4 hours of reading and experimenting, Katie has developed a comprehensive line of outstanding products.  As a small-scale formulator, Katie does not utilize the services of a lab.  Every single compound is written and formulated personally with each ingredient carefully researched for its unique properties in skin.  The Dermal Enhancements product line contains not only commonly used and well-tolerated ingredients, but also rare finds that can be tricky to source out for individual makers.

It is an exciting time to be part of the skin care industry owing to discoveries being made in cosmetics labs internationally.  More and more natural products are being found to have outstanding properties for the skin and Katie seeks to incorporate those which have been proven to yield beautiful results.  Conversely, Katie also seeks to educate on myths around “natural” versus “synthetic”.   Many natural products can be harmful, while many synthetic products are very healthy, and not even technically un-natural.

The line is set and continues to grow.  Not only is a full complement of facial care available, the line now includes body care and other wellness products such as unique essential oil blends and complementary retail items such as makeup and cleansing tools, hair care, and much more.

At all times, there is an intense focus on eliminating unnecessaries.  Only natural preservatives are used, and no artificial fragrances or colours will make their way into a formulation.  We are always concerned about the toxic load of various preservatives, surfactants, solubilizers, and emulsifiers that carry some health concerns.  Everything is researched before it gets added.

Having a 100 PERCENT local source of healthy, nearly all botanical (and 100 percent on customized formulas) is the perfect way to deliver the highest quality and, not exaggerating, skin resurfacing care products that can be customized for clients, tinted for clients, tailored to specific needs and used up within an optimal shelf life time frame (3 to 6 months) without breaking the bank! Best of all, we welcome back all containers for sterilization so that they can be refilled, saving money still on packaging. We conduct no fancy advertising or pay for fancy labelling and this all leads to savings for our clients. Any product that expires before a reasonable time is replaced at no cost. We DO USE NATURAL PRESERVATIVES. Light, bacteria from hands, heat…all can lead to product deterioration.  Please note that each product batch may differ slightly in consistency, fragrance and colour.  In addition, ingredients are subject to change slightly.  Clients will be kept informed.

Titanium Dermal Rollers .25 and .30 mm

To maintain results from any of our skin treatments or to use as a stand-alone treatment, home dermal rolling has been scientifically recognized as a healthy way to stimulate and rejuvenate skin while also assisting in the penetration of nonirritating skin products. When nourishing serums are able to reach further into the dermis their efficacy in addressing any skin disfunction, is optimized. We are exposed daily to pollution, free radicals, and bacteria that, over time, harm our skin. Staying on top of healthy cellular renewal and skin rejuvenation staves off the signs of aging and helps assist with a host of skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, poor circulation, and congestion, and more.

Usage:  never dermal roll before 3 weeks after a skin treatment such as micro needling, laser treatment, or chemical peel.  Begin a dermal rolling regimen at 2 to 3x a week and gradually work up.  Always use a clean tool and check for any damage

to the drum/needles.  Stretch skin and roll both horizontally and vertically across all areas of the face, neck, and chest.  You can roll anywhere on the body.  Aim for only “pink”; do not over traumatize skin.  Rolling helps your skin products penetrate; however if you notice increased sensitivity, roll first and then apply serums and creams after 30 to 60 minutes.  Ensure face is well cleansed.

At no time should anyone use any dermal roller deeper than .30 mm at home.  There is a common temptation to aim for better results by being more aggressive.  Avoid this temptation.

If essential oils are one of the methods you use to de-stress, deal with anxiety, then you need a personalized way to experience.

Dermal Enhancements sells wick inhalers which can be changed up depending on the oil you wish to experience, which are exactly the same as the old style nose inhalers used to clear sinuses.  These are great for a pocket, or purse.  Essential oils are amazing ways to calm children at school…provided staff are notified since fragrance can be very upsetting for some.

Our solid carved bamboo inhalers are incredible for small space experiencing, with a few drops resting in a concave basin of the bamboo construction to set beside your favourite chair or near your bedside.

Always research your oils to ensure no sensitivity for pets and make sure that whomever you share your space with is okay with your choice of oils.  If it is an individual experience, the nose inhalers are your best option.

Keepink It Real Optimal Speed Heal

This product can be considered an alternative to the ever popular, and petroleum based anti biotic ointment, so it is suitable for scrapes, burns and other types of skin irritation/inflammation.  For tattoo and permanent makeup artists, use during service to wipe away ink and calm skin.  Can be used as both a cleanser and balm.  Simply wet the treatment area, apply balm and wipe away; then apply a light layer to the cleansed area.  No need for separate products.

By stimulating the skin and the follicles, dormant hair shafts may be stimulated into regrowth. Satin Pillowcases

We sell satin pillowcases for a few reasons. Firstly, they are kinder to your hair than other fabrics and this is particularly so if you are working to regrow hair or make yours healthier. Secondly, if you have had a permanent makeup treatment, particularly eyebrows, it is often difficult to control your sleep movements and we have found that sometimes rolling around disrupts your newly healing permanent makeup treatment. Using a softer and gentler fabric is less likely to result in disruption to your treatment. Lastly, if you are participating in a course of microneedling, the first day or two your skin will feel slightly irritated, and it will continue to feel dry for a week or more. Sleeping on a soft fabric that has been washed in a gentle detergent feels better to the healing skin.
