We use the safest tattoo removal method available. Hypertonic saline is tattooed into the skin to extract ink. It is effective and affordable. Saline is suitable only for small to medium sized tattoos and can be applied on any colour. It is great to do in combination with laser treatments if it is your goal to entirely eradicate the ink.
Tattoo Lightening & Removal
From $75/session per 3 x 3 area • Larger areas subject to case by case fees.
If you recall your science class days you will recall learning about the process of osmosis. It is this same process by which saline tattoo lightening and removal works. Skin cells which contain tattoo ink are semi-permeable and when saline solution is entered into the skin it can pull the ink molecules out of the cells and upward toward the surface of the skin. It is not uncommon to see the resulting scabbed treated area coloured the same colour as the original tattoo. If scarring exists, the process also softens the scars. Saline can be done on all skin colours, and all tattoo ink colours. As with any invasive treatment some scarring and/or hyper/hypopigmentation can occur. This is very dependent on the area of the body treated as well as the client themselves. Fortunately, we are also able to address scarring with microneeding and dry needling and, provided the melanin cells in the skin have not been permanently destroyed, we can often stimulate them to begin producing pigment again. It is impossible to render the skin “virgin” after a tattoo and removal session. Many clients opt for this method of removal in order to create a canvas for a cover up tattoo. This respects the artist’s work and prevents the need for an overly saturated cover up which may not age well in time. Sessions take no longer than an hour and we often use near infrared light therapy on the treated area to expedite and optimize healing.
Permanent Makeup Correction
Sometimes permanent makeup may heal to a colour you do not like. Sometimes this can be on the gray side, the reddish to orange side or you may not be happy with your recently done treatment. If your treatment has been done very recently it is important to reach out as soon as possible. Often the colour can be removed. If your treatment is older a correction may involve a combination of colour neutralization and/or removal. We will need to see you (or get good photos) to know how/whether we can assist. Please note that your displeasure is not always the fault of your artist and your original artist should always be given the opportunity to address the matter first, if possible. Not all artists are able to perform corrections so we do not have a problem helping you know what to ask if you go back to your original artist.
A correction will involve addressing the current matter and then performing a new service if desired. Therefore, fees will vary depending on the strategy required.
